Los Angeles, August 27—WeBook Publishing hosted a panel of immigrant authors at a sold-out event at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Beverly Hills this past Saturday, August 24, to celebrate National Latina Day in Los Angeles. Liliana Perez, Director of Culture Affairs for the Los Angeles Chargers, expertly moderated the panel and introduced the works of the five new authors. The event was a success, with a full house of almost 200 guests, and a beautiful red carpet hosted by the journalist Jana Nagase.

The celebration of the new Brazilian authors began with Maytê Carvalho, author of the Brazilian best-seller Persuasão (published in English by WeBook as Persuasion), who discussed stories of famous immigrants who achieved success despite their accents.

"What Arnold and Max did was transform weakness into a competitive advantage. English wasn't their first language. Their accents were strong. Yet, they turned their vulnerabilities into their superpowers," said Carvalho.

She also introduced Ana Silvani, founder of the hybrid publishing house. After reading an introductory piece that warmed the audience’s hearts, where she spoke about everyone being part of the same puzzle and going through moments of happiness and sadness, success and defeat in similar ways—reminding us that we are all one—Silvani called the authors to the stage. The panel was moderated by Director Liliana Perez, who surprised everyone with unscripted questions, drawing out essential details about the lives and works of the five featured authors:

"It was like giving birth to a second child. It was a dream come true, thanks to the collaboration and hard work of people who are in the same tune, vibrating with the same energy. Sharing my journey and seeing how meaningful it was to people gave me the strength to know I’m on the right path," said Daniela Escobar, author of Change.
"Launching The Baby Seeker at Barnes & Noble The Grove was an absolute dream come true. The excitement and support from the audience were beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Thank you, WeBook Publishing, for making this happen. And now it is official: I'm a published author, and I can’t wait for the next chapters from now on," celebrated Deborah Liss, author of The Baby Seeker.

"I never thought my book could impact so many lives, but as the readers say, it is about universal feelings. People tell me that my book showed them how it is possible to make dreams come true," shared Larissa Rinaldi, author of City Echoes: Lessons from New York.
"Seeing the positive response from the audience at the launch event filled me with an incredible sense of energy and inspiration, reaffirming that "Passport to Growth" resonates with those seeking personal and professional transformation," remarked Patricia East, author of Passport to Growth: Leadership Lessons From An Expat.

"I felt deeply moved and grateful. It was a mix of joy, fulfillment, and a bit of nervousness, but above all, I felt immense happiness with everyone who shared this moment with me. I want to continue inspiring women to discover their potential through an authentic and powerful image from the inside out," emphasized Viviane Williams, author of Dress Yourself (Vista-SI).

As the founder of a boutique publishing house focusing on immigrant authors, Ana Silvani believes that having almost 200 people attending the event once again proved to our community that there is space for Latinas in the American publishing market.

"We are creating this space, and it is being duly filled. For at least a decade, I hid a manuscript in a drawer out of fear, shame, imposter syndrome… I struggled to find someone who valued my vision and needs. Three years ago, I started my own publishing imprint to support my dreams and those of other writers. I believe WeBook has once again proven that there is a place for Latinas in the American and global publishing markets, and the company solidifies itself as the bridge connecting authors and readers to this new space now occupied by other women," celebrated Ana Silvani, author of Half Love, Metade Amor.
